Details:
• We are looking for 1 FTE;
• If there is sufficient interest, we may close the vacancy earlier than the deadline indicated in the portal. Therefore, please submit a suitable candidate as soon as possible;
• Suppliers may submit only 1 candidate. If multiple candidates are submitted by one supplier, all candidates will be rejected;
• Working language: English;
• Knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus;
• Fixed office days are Monday and Thursday;
• Candidates must be residing in the Netherlands;
• No freelancers (ZZP);
• The role consists of 60% Data Scientist tasks and 40% Software Engineer tasks;
• The recruitment process consists of 3 interview rounds, with the 2nd round being a technical interview. No preparation is required for this;
• 3 CVs may be submitted instead of 2;
• We would like to receive the personal motivation of the candidate and CV in English.

As a Data Scientist / Software Engineer, you will have direct social impact by detecting criminal behavior and improving complex business processes through graph analytics. You will work with large-scale transaction data from over 8 million customers, applying advanced graph patterns to uncover meaningful insights.
You will join a team dedicated to building and evolving the Enterprise Knowledge Graph. The team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining this graph across a wide range of use cases, enabling an integrated and connected view of customers and products throughout the organisation.

In this role, you help transform innovative ideas and experiments into high-quality, production-ready solutions. By bringing strong software engineering and coding expertise, you play a key role in scaling prototypes into robust, reliable products that create real business value.

• Build responsible and cost effective Graph solutions for millions of customers;
• Analyse and optimize critical code to improve performance and scalability;
• Turn explorational notebooks into a maintainable codebase.

Requirements:
• You have a Bachelor or Master degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, IT or a related field;
• You have at least 5 or more years of experience working as a Data Scientist with a strong focus on software engineering;
• You have strong object-oriented programming, data analysis and software engineering skills, and Python expertise is a must;
• You are skilled in Git, Databricks and PySpark;
• You have a passion for building and bringing to production clean, well-structured, maintainable and testable solutions;
• You have experience in making components that can be re-used and standardized to support scale;
• You are curious by heart, open to learn, proactive and experienced in collaboration with colleagues;
• You communicate well in the English language (both spoken and written);
• Solid understanding of statistical modelling and machine learning;
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure;
• Experience in model deployment, performance tuning, and monitoring leveraging MLOps/DevOps is a plus;
• Experience in graph analytics is a plus.

Additional information:
• All departments are working hybrid, in terms of Rabobank @anywhere policy;

• Suppliers must be aware of the laws and regulations regarding employment conditions and Rabobank’s Collective Labour Agreement. This assignment is placed in scale 9;
