Unit Grid Field Operations Offshore NL (GON):
TenneT is making a major contribution to ensure that offshore wind farms are connected to the onshore high-voltage grid. These efforts are aimed at realizing the government’s vision of an accelerated transition to a sustainable energy supply. TenneT is fully committed to develop, build, and manage grid connections from offshore wind farms to the onshore transmission grid. Grid Service Offshore is the Service Provider for these grid connections.
In 2020, the first two Dutch offshore substations, Borssele Alpha and Beta became operational. We now have 6 700 MW AC Grid Connection Systems and more assets expected on the horizon. Within Grid Field Operations, an Operations and Maintenance department is set up for the Dutch offshore assets. Grid Field Operations Offshore is currently looking for an:

The Operating Engineer enables the execution of all preventive & corrective maintenance measures and assigned projects (detailed engineering, tendering & execution), based on maintenance engineering plans and the project portfolio of the Dutch area. As Operating Engineer, you are also deeply involved in operational and organisational readiness to take-over new project assets, which requires cooperation with project engineers and third parties for commissioning and hand over of systems and documentation.
Tasks and responsibilities of the Operating Engineer (240V & 400V Systems) include:
• Identify defects and non-compliances from project design and manage these under a warranty process with key vendors project execution;
• Managing the timely preparation, execution and administrative completion of maintenance activities and prioritization of these activities;
• Provide technical input and lessons learned to enable future safe and efficient operations and maintenance of existing and new assets;
• Engineering, asset and organisational planning;
• Ensuring efficient and effective maintenance plans;
• Manage and evaluate service contracts with key vendors, including tender documents, evaluation of bids, negotiations and ensuring effective contract delivery;
• Ensure that maintenance information is recorded correctly to enable safe and efficient operation.
Profile:
• Engineering degree on HBO or WO level with at least 5+ years of relevant work experience in a related field;
• Experience in 110V, 230V and 400V offshore systems and battery UPS systems;
• Experience applying NEN3140, NEN3840, and NEN1010 within the Netherlands;
• Experience with supplier commercial relationships on technical contracts;
• Relevant knowledge and experience working on maintenance and modification projects;
• Familiar with operational environments and usage of maintenance management system like i.e. SAP, where SAP experience is highly desired.

Important to know:
• Candidate is going to work in the team Electrical & Automation Systems, where mainly operation engineers are working (8 colleagues of which 3 as external hire);
• The Operating Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of the 700 MW platforms. For this position TenneT is looking for a low voltage (110V, 230V and 400V systems) specialist. Focus is on ensure that the electronical systems remains operational. This means: scheduling maintenance, planning for any (potential) issues. Reports are provided by the contractor who performs maintenance. The candidate should be able to read and review this report, provide TenneT with recommendations after the inspection and perform follow-up actions. The operation engineer also translate it to a new annual strategy. For some platforms the warranty period is still valid;
• The LV installations are not specific; the candidate can work in every area (industry, utility, maritime, etc.).
• Candidate has to speak at least fluent English (HM speaks English, whereby also the communication with the point of contact of the contractor is in English), Dutch is a pré!
• Good to know: If the amount of offered candidates is significant, we will prefere candidates with experience in sectors relevant to TenneT and candidates who are proficient in Dutch.
Conditions:
• At entry, TenneT performs a Pre-Employment Screening;
• Duty station for this position is Arnhem (Monday and Wednesday, on request also other days). Other days hybrid. For this position a candidate doesn't have to travel to offshore locations;
• Temporary position due to maternity leave.

• Suppliers must be aware of the laws and regulations regarding employment conditions and Tennet’s Collective Labour Agreement. This assignment is placed in scale 8;
