Assignment: The Back-End Developer establishes the web development activities that are done at the back end of programs. The Back-End Developer covers server-side web application logic and integration and activities, like writing APIs, creating libraries, and working with system components instead of frontend development, which focuses on customer-facing services and programs. The Back-End Developer focuses on designing effective and efficient solutions by analyzing the website's performance demands and goals; development and administration of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs); develops data acceptance and storage solutions for websites; writes, tests, and maintains development solutions for code-related problems; identifies new features with developers, designers, and system administrators; creates a website architecture by utilizing correct product lifecycle approaches, such as Agile Scrum and frameworks; organizes the system logic; provides remedies to difficulties with the system; debugs and troubleshoots apps.

Vattenfall, a leading Northwestern European energy provider, seeks a Medior/Senior .NET Backend Developer for a Contact Center application. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions in Azure, ensuring high-quality code aligned with enterprise standards. Collaboration with solution designers and engineers in an agile setting is required.

This role is for a Genesys Cloud. An application has been built to support this called Genesys Power Tools, which is used currently in several countries (Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany). The candidate will work closely together with another .NET developer. Furthermore, there are two solution designers in the team.

Must-have requirements:

  • 5+ years as a .NET developer
  • Background in Azure services and agile teams
  • Strong skills in C# and API development/integration
  • Practical experience with Azure Functions (isolated worker)
  • Familiarity with Azure Storage (Queues, Blobs, Tables)
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Releases)
  • Proven record in CI/CD and deployment automation
  • Automated/unit testing experience
  • Excellent English communication skills

Nice to have requirements:

  • Experience with Dataverse / Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Experience with Genesys Cloud integrations

Soft skills:

  • Problem-solving, proactive, and quality-focused
  • Able to work independently as a consultant
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

For this role, a bachelor degree is needed, but working experience in .NET is more important. Experience within the energy sector is not needed for this role.
