About TenneT, the Unit, Department, and Team:
TenneT is Europe’s leading transmission system operator and plays a key role in the energy transition. With more than 23,500 kilometers of high-voltage connections and nearly 5,000 employees, we ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany.

Unit offshore:
Within this unit, you will join the Portfolio GSC HVDC/Platform Delivery department. You will become part of the Platform Team, responsible for the delivery of offshore platforms for the IJmuiden Ver Beta, IJmuiden Ver Gamma, and Nederwiek 2 wind farms, which together will generate approximately 6 GW of offshore wind energy. Within this team, you will work closely with the QA/QC Lead, SHE Manager, and (Sub) Project Leads, reporting directly to the Supervisor Jacket Construction. The work carried out by this team directly contributes to the modernization, expansion, and sustainability of the Dutch high-voltage grid and supports the offshore energy transition. Role:
How do you help keep the Netherlands powered? As a Site Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and high-quality construction of offshore jacket structures for TenneT’s offshore platforms.

Your responsibilities include:
• Monitoring jacket construction activities at the construction yard through both scheduled inspections and random site patrols
• Overseeing construction quality, including welding, coatings, and materials, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and reporting deviations
• Promoting and enforcing Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, including intervening in unsafe situations and stopping work when required
• Coordinating with certification authorities regarding inspections, material testing, and regulatory compliance
• Reviewing contractor schedules, monitoring progress, and identifying construction risks and potential delays
• Acting as TenneT’s on-site representative when the Supervisor is not present at the construction yard
• You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and maintain clear, professional communication with contractors while safeguarding TenneT’s interests on site.

What Do You Bring?
Technical Qualifications:
• IWT or IWI-C certification (International Welding Technologist / International Welding Inspector – Level C)
• VTW-2 Visual Weld Inspector certification is required
• Coating inspection certification (e.g., NACE or FROSIO) is required

Industry Experience:
• Proven experience in offshore steel structure construction and high-level QA/QC environments
• Solid knowledge of DNV standards (e.g., DNVGL-OS-C401)
• Familiarity with ISO 12944 for coatings
• Knowledge of NDT ISO standards and inspection methods such as UT, MT, and related examinations

Quality & Construction Expertise:
• Strong understanding of construction methods, quality systems, and testing methodologies throughout all phases of construction
• Experience monitoring construction progress and identifying project risks

Competencies & Soft Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to act professionally as TenneT’s on-site representative
• Proactive and assertive approach to health, safety, and environmental management
• Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities without direct supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Collaborative team player with a professional attitude

IT & Language Skills:
• Advanced Microsoft Office and general PC skills
• Dutch and English
